Moore County, Texas, was created in 1876 and organized in 1892. It is located north of Amarillo, Texas. Its population as of the 2010 census was 21,904. The county seat is Dumas (population: 14,691). Other smaller communities include Sunray (population: 1950) and Cactus (population: 3179).

Its population as of the 2010 census was 3,304. The county seat is Stratford (population: 2,071). The community of Texhoma straddles the Texas-Oklahoma border (population divided between Texas and Oklahoma: 364).
